FLAT CUT LETTERS

Whether you’re wanting the letters stand alone, or mounted to a panel, acrylic is the preferred material for flat cut letters. It is readily available in thicknesses of 1/16”, 1/8”, 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4” and 1” in black, white, digitally printed, or any painted color. PVC, Aluminum or HDU letters are also available in similar thicknesses if it’s a better fit for your custom signage. PVC letters are lighter than acrylic letters, but cannot be laser cut, and the edge quality is low compared to acrylic. Aluminum letters can be painted or brushed, but can be achieved by using a metal laminate on the face of acrylic if silver, gold, copper, or brass finishes are desired. HDU letters are great for thicker applications. We seal in HDU with a special primer to minimize pores, but it will still have a foam-like texture. We can provide the letters attached to a face, or stand alone with a pattern and VHB tape or studs for mounting.

BACKER PANELS

Letters are often mounted to panels and attached to the wall with standoffs in many lobby signage needs. Acrylic is the most common substrate for these panels, and is available in thicknesses of 1/8”, 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2” with faces in Clear, P95 Frosted, Non-Glare, Black, White, or painted colors. Think of adding subsurface elements, plotter cut vinyl, digital printing, or multiple layers for additional depth and dynamics. We have a wide variety of commonly available standoffs for mounting these backer panels, and a pattern is included for mounting.

Although we can custom produce orders to the exact size you need, there are optimal sizes for acrylic backer panels due to sheet size restrictions to make sure your edge is consistent on all sides. Take a look at the chart below to see if one of these optimal sizes will work for your customer first!
